Chaat is a popular street food of India, where crispy fried papris are topped with boiled potatoes, chopped onions, yogurt, boiled chickpeas, corn nibblets, sprouts, spicy coriander chutney, sweet tamarind chutney and many more. They are finger licking good and no one can eat just one. Usually, chaat snacks are served in stalls or carts but they can be easily made at home with much more hygiene and no compromise in flavour.

There is a variety of Indian chaat recipes that are easy, quick and fun to make. One of such chaats is corn papri chaat. It tastes tangy, sweet and spicy. Try this simple recipe and enjoy this flavourful snack.

Preparation time: 20-25 min

Corn

Ingredients:

Corn nibblets                  1 cup (boiled bhutte ke daane)

Papri                                 24

Mustard seeds                ½ tsp

Curry leaves                     10

Green chillies                   2 (finely chopped)

Onion                                 1 (finely chopped)

Oil                                       1 tbsp

Nachos                               15-20

Red chilli powder              ½ tsp

Salt                                      to taste

 

Chaat

Method:

Heat oil in a pan.

Add mustard seeds. Let them splutter.

 Add curry leaves and green chillies.

Stir and add corn nibblets. Add tamarind chutney, salt and chilli powder. Simmer till chutney coats the corns. Turn off flame. Let it cool.

At the time of serving, place papris in a flat plate. Spoon the corn chaat over the papris. Sprinkle chopped onion and crushed nachos on the top.

Garnish with green coriander leaves.
