Pizza is considered as the comfort food, but the process of making it perfect is not an easy task. Art is involved in preparing the perfect crispy pizza with a delicious mix of toppings.

In the fast-growing tribe of pizza lovers in the national capital, Baked Pizza & Co. recently opened an outlet in Greater Kailash, South Delhi, where it serves gourmet pizzas and pasta. There are so many options to choose from in terms of base, be it thin crust, pan cooked or pan handed.

As you enter the small but cute café, you will witness quotes written about pizza, and you can’t resist yourself from getting clicked under ‘Let’s get baked’. The vibe and the atmosphere are perfect, and it has seating on both inside and outside. Soft music plays in the background and there is an open drink centre where all the shakes and drinks are served.

To start with, I ordered Baked Penne dipped in creamy tomato sauce which is way too creamy and has the right amount of herbs and spices. Signature fake-fried fries are less in calories and are baked. Baked Mozzarella Sticks with jalapenos and corn is a must try – the combination of cheese and corn goes well and you must order it when you head there.

The one dish that most don’t mind waiting for, even if it takes 5 minutes or 10 minutes, is pizza. When it comes to crust, sauces, toppings or vegetables, you can’t stick to just the classic ones. Adding Indian twist to pizza with interesting flavours is the hallmark of Baked Pizza & Co.

I ordered signature pizzas — Desi Vibes and Vinny’s List. The Desi Vibes pizza has Panner Tikka, onions, bell peppers, jalapenos, diced mozzarella cheese with spicy red sauce. On the other hand, Vinny’s List has chicken chorizo, chicken sausage, mushrooms, minced chicken keema, caramelised onions, diced mozzarella cheese and classic red sauce.

To complement the food, I went for Baked’s signature cold coffee with infused vanilla and The OG oreo milkshake. To end the meal, I went for Signature Nutella Pizza which has the right amount of Nutella and fruits toppings.
