Spider Plant – The fast growing shoots actually produce little “babies”. You can re-pot for added greenery elsewhere. Keep them in well-lit spots and water weekly.

Peace Lily- According to NASA this miracle plant can filter toxins from the air. Its estimated height is between one to six feet. Check for the growth before you buy.

Aloe – Aloe plants like to be dry and warm, not wet and cold, so water only when soil becomes dry. Keep it in a sunny window. If you have just re-potted the plant, do not water it for two to three days. This plant is widely known for its hair and skin benefits. It clears formaldehyde, benzene and other toxins.

Rubber Plant – These can be enjoyed as either medium-sized house plants or groom to become beautiful indoor trees. Rubber plants don’t like to sit in water, so a well-draining soil is important. They like bright light but not direct sunlight. Fertilize it during the growing season only.

Jade Plant – Its unique bush-like structure makes it suitable to trim as a bonsai. Under the right conditions you might see pink flowers blossomed. They require very little water in summer time and even less in winter.

Ponytail Palm – It is a cute plant requiring pretty low maintenance. It prefers bright indirect light with ideal temperatures above 45 degree F. Placement near a draft or vent should be avoided as it may dry out the foliage. Sometimes they can enjoy a sunny summer vacation outside. But be sure to transit it slowly to the outdoors and bring it back inside when temperatures start to dip into the 40 degree at night. The plant will need its soil to dry well between watering.

Philodendron – This plant adapts readily to the conditions inside the home. It requires space to grow them indoors since they tend to spread. They grow to a height of approximately three feet but its width can be nearly twice its height. They can help purify the air. They grow best in bright indirect sunlight. Water when top inch of soil dries out.

Begonia – Plant wax begonias in partly shaded location. Watering correctly is important. Soil should remain moist. Foliage may be green or bronze with single or double flowers in pinks, whites and reds. They are popular house plants that can bloom year round.

Chinese Money Plant – With its round coin-like leaves and straight stems, this plant looks gorgeous in short pots. These require once-a-wet watering (depending upon the temperature in your room) and will happily thrive in bright spaces but do not require direct sunlight.

African Violets – These indoor plants are known for their beauty, resilience and relatively simple care. These dainty flowering plants look great in hanging baskets or pots. They require moderate to bright indirect sunlight. Keep soil moist to dry and allow soil around roots to dry out before watering to encourage blooming. Place plant away from floor vents, fans or entrance door to avoid air drafts and bursts of cold air. Do not allow air temperature to drop below 60 degrees or rise above 80 degrees.

Bunny Ear Cactus – If you are looking for a low-maintenance cactus and enhance a desert-themed interior, it’s hard to go wrong with this one. Keep them in plenty of sunlight and water when dry. Consider pairing with a rustic planter.

Phostos Plant – It is an overwhelmingly popular houseplant for good reason. The vines can grow almost impossibly long, making them a great choice for suspension from tall ceiling. Keep them in low and indirect light conditions and water when dry.

Dieffenbachia Plant – Its care is easy and a good way to get started with the basics of indoor house plant care. They can reach a height of four to five feet as an attractive floor plant. The plant can handle the full sun but does appreciate good lighting. In fact, high temperatures and bright light can make this plant weak and sick. It prefers well-draining soil.

Bringing plants to your interiors is one of the easiest and warmest of natural ways to embellish every corner of your house. They come in a variety of colours, shapes and sizes finding themselves an appropriate space in your house. Connect yourself to them. They can transport your mind and soul to serenity and calmness.
