A bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul posted the matter for hearing to next Friday. A number of petitions were filed against the Tamil Nadu government's decision to construct 134 feet tall "Pen monument" in honour of Karunanidhi.
Under the new roster, arbitration matters will be heard by the benches headed by CJI Chandrachud, Justice Kaul, Justice Khanna, Justice Bhat and Justice Oka.
Besides CJI Chandrachud, the revamped collegium now includes Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Surya Kant. Justice Khanna, Justice Gavai and Justice Surya Kant will go on to become the Chief Justice of India one after the other.
Declining to grant any relief to Abhishek Jha today, a vacation bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice MM Sundresh posted the matter for “preliminary hearing” on July 5.
