Music is always evolving. New artists push the envelope and create different genres or mesh together genres no one would have thought of before. This keeps audiences interested and makes them feel like they’re witnessing something unique and fresh. Eric Nyxx is an artist who pushes these boundaries. He’s a DJ living in Miami who is currently on the rise of the electronic dance scene and he isn’t afraid to borrow from other genres to create his songs. His unique style has been described as a combination of deep house, house, tech house, afro house, trap, techno, and hip-hop.
When asked about the future of music, Eric Nyxx seemed hopeful for more innovation and said, “I feel that we are in an interesting period because some many genres are crossing over and new styles and subgenres are on the horizon.”
Nyxx has always had an interest in different music styles. As he was growing up, his parents introduced him to late 1990s and early 2000s electronic dance music, including artists like ATB, Tiesto, Carl Cox, and Paul van Dyk. He came to love this style, and one of the main reasons why he decided to become a DJ. When he got a little older, he nurtured a liking for hip-hop, too, by listening to rappers like 50 Cent and Eminem.

He also experimented with different music styles in high school. He learned the basics of music production in a class that taught Garage Band and he worked on creating his own tracks ever since. He was able to use the school equipment when he didn’t have his own and used it to DJ parties and events for his friends.
Eric Nyxx threw parties where he DJ’d in college, but his career took off when he started working at the nightclubs in New York City. He owned his production company called Nyxx Hospitality which he used to arrange parties and manage nightclubs. The name of his company is where he got his DJ moniker (which is pronounced like the New York Knicks).
Now, the DJ is inspired by other artists in the industry like Dj Snake, Tiesto, Black Coffee, and Viruss Beats. He believes that networking is everything and wants to meet up with new artists to sing on his tracks and collaborate with him.
He recently released his first single “More to Life.” It’s a catchy song that gives the vibe of Miami and shows how much he has to offer as an artist. It’s a mashup of genres and it seems like a peek at what’s to come next from Nyxx.
“Music is a powerful art,” Nyxx wrote. “Inspire, stimulate the creation and transformation of ourselves and by the same laws of cause and effect, the type of music we listen to drives us towards one behaviour or towards another,” he added.
Eric Nyxx isn’t afraid to push boundaries in his music. He mashes up genres and takes them to new levels. When different genres are put together, they end up better than they were alone.
