The Hyderabad Police have arrsted YSRTP chief YS Sharmila and then rushed her to a private hospital in Jubilee Hills on Sunday after her health condition worsened because of the indefinite fast.
She was protesting against the TRS government’s decision to deny permission for her padayatra and started the indefinite fast on Friday.
She was admitted to the hospital with low blood pressure, weakness and giddiness, said the Apollo Hospital in its medical bulletin.
“She had dehydration and orthostatic hypotension with severe oliguria, high anion gap metabolic acidosis and pre renal azotemia,” reads the hospital bulletin on her health condition.
The doctors have advised her complete bed rest for the next 2-3 weeks. Sharmila’s padayatra was disrupted in Warangal by TRS workers, who were angry after she criticised the local MLA.
The police have denied her to resume the padayatra citing the law and order situation in Warangal. Sharmila has accused Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, of trying to stop her padayatra.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena, too is looking to expand into Telangana and have announced that the party will contest in Telangana elections in future. The party has appointed several in-charges in each of the Assembly constituencies for it.
