State police file case for fomenting communal tension
West Bengal Police filed a criminal case against a person for posting the photograph of a minor girl, flouting the Supreme Court guidelines, and trying to foment communal tension.
The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has expressed a sigh of relief after the Supreme Court stayed the Allahabad High Court direction to hold Urban Local Bodies poll in the state without OBC reservation by January 31 next.
Yogi Adityanath has welcomed the SC decision on Wednesday. The CM tweeted ,”We welcome the order given by the Supreme Court regarding the urban body elections in Uttar Pradesh”.
” The Government of Uttar Pradesh will cooperate in the completion of civic elections by implementing OBC reservation within the time limit given by the Supreme Court,” he further wrote.
The SC has asked the UP government to complete the OBC reservation policy by March 31.
The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on December 27 had quashed the OBC reservation notification of UP government issued on December 5 for ULB polls as it did not followed the triple test procedure.
The HC had also directed the UP government to hold the polls by January 31 without OBC reservation.
