Speaking to media, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the statue would become the identity of Ayodhya.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday kept his promise of delivering a “good news” on Diwali as he officially announced the construction of a grand statue of Ram in Ayodhya.
Speaking to media, Yogi said the statue will be built inside a temple. Its particulars will be decided according to the land, he said. He further said the statue will be a signpost for Ayodhya.
Speaking on the much anticipated Ram temple, Yogi said, “The temple was here and will be here but whatever happens will be within the parameters of the Constitution”.

Asserting that a Ram temple will be built in Ayodhya soon, Yogi had on Sunday said that a piece of good news regarding this awaited devotees all over the country.
The state government reportedly plans to build the 151-metre tall statue at a cost of Rs 330 crore. It will be installed on a 50-metre high pedestal near the bank of River Saryu.
A few months back the proposal to construct statue was discussed by the UP government and several meetings of the top officials of the culture and tourism ministry of the state took place and the project is focused at perking up tourism in Ayodhya.
Earlier, on the eve of Diwali, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath renamed Faizabad district to Ayodhya.

The announcement came days after the UP CM changed the name of Allahabad to Prayagraj, which he justified two days ago with a reference to Duryodhana and Ravana, the mythological antagonists of Mahabharata and Ramayana, respectively.
Stressing that Ayodhya is the “symbol of our honour, prestige and pride”, the 46-year-old CM said the city’s identity is with Lord Ram.
