Days after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Smriti Irani, Pramod Krishnam has been expelled from the Congress for six years over “indiscipline” and anti-party remarks.
Reacting to the Congress party’s action against him, Krishnam said that he will not compromise on ‘Ram’ and ‘Rashtra’ (Nation).
“There can be no compromise on ‘Ram’ and ‘Rashtra’,” the expelled Congress leader wrote on ‘X’ and tagged Rahul Gandhi in the post.

Earlier on Saturday night, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge approved a proposal of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee to expel Krishnam for a period of six years.
The official statement of the Congress party said that the decision was taken after “complaints of indiscipline and repeated public statements against the party”.
The development comes days after he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him to attend the inauguration of Shri Kalki Dham on February 19.
Krishnam also met several other BJP leaders, including Union Minister Smriti Irani and extended invitation to them to attend the inauguration of Shri Kalki Dham.
Krishnam has also criticised the Congress party after it declined to attend the Ram temple consecration ceremony last month.
“Not even a Christian or a priest or Muslim can decline the invitation of Lord Ram. Ram is the soul of India. Without Ram, India can’t even be imagined,” Acharya Pramod said at the time.
Recently, he also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, saying it appears the party is preparing to contest the 2029 elections.
“Congress has some very great and intelligent leaders. On one hand, all political parties are gearing up for the 2024 elections, while on the other hand, the whole Congress party is doing political tourism; they are travelling. Actually, we will figure out how to win the 2024 elections after 2024. It seems we are preparing ourselves for the 2029 elections. Had we been preparing for 2024, this would not have happened,” he had said.
