Calling the Opposition alliance ‘Mahagathbandhan’ ~ a conglomeration of opportunistic parties minus any ‘gath’, rejected by 125 crore people of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday averred that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was all set to come back to power in next year’s general elections.

Interacting with party workers in five Lok Sabha constituencies of Arunachal West, Jaipur Rural, Nawada, Hazaribagh and Ghaziabad through NaMo App from here Modi said none could stop the BJP’s victory march if the party workers managed their booths effectively.

The Prime Minister called upon party workers to follow the mantra of ‘Mera booth sabse majboot’ to ensure the party’s return to power in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

He exhorted party workers to continuously interact with the people in their constituencies and ensure that at least 20 families and youth were working with the party in each polling booth.

Modi said the wind was blowing in favour of the BJP. He said the Opposition was engaged in a battle of lies against the party and the government.

He said the hard work being done by the party workers and government’s inclusive developmental initiatives driven by the principle of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ had created a trust among the people about the government’s ability to deliver with transparency.

He said Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas was not merely a slogan it was a ‘sacred goal’ for all-round development of the people. The development works being carried out in the last four years had catapulted the country from 10 to 6th largest economy of the world, Modi said.

“Earlier, the concept in vogue was ‘Bhrastachar hi Shistachar’, that had become a part of the system. There is now this trust among the people that under the ruling BJP work will be done with transparency. As a result today people have begun to ask how much money has come from ‘ghotalabaj’ (corrupt people),” Modi said.

The Prime Minister said the Opposition had no issues to fight the government. “If they had any real issue against the government they would not have engaged in a battle of lies with the government,” Modi said. He said there was no unity among the Opposition parties, only a few parties were being branded as leading the ‘Mahagathbandhan’.

Modi said unlike the Congress party the BJP was not committed to any particular family. He said he felt bad for some senior capable Congress leaders who had to sacrifice their lives at the altar of a family.

Hiting out at Opposition parties, saying the Congress, which has been trying to forge a mahagathbandhan for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and those part of the grand alliance form its “support system.”

Modi’s attack came during a video interaction with booth level workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Jaipur (Rural), Nawada, Ghaziabad, Hazaribagh and Arunachal West parliamentary constituencies.

“Their only motto is Modi hatao, Modi hatao’ and ‘Modi hatao (Remove Modi) while our determination is to accelerate the path of development.”

The Prime Minister said there was confusion in the “mahagathbandhan” over leadership and policy. Their intention was corrupt.

Dubbing the idea of “mahagathbandhan” as an example of the BJP’s rising power, he sought to know why the Congress, which had once passed a resolution against alliances, was now backtracking.
