In a bid to strengthen village defence following a terror attack in Dangri village, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, on Saturday, visited the Baljaralan area to inspect allotment of guns and cartridges to the village defence guards (VDGs) to bolster the security of the area.
The weapons and ammunition are being provided to the VDGs by police authorities. A camp was set up for the purpose.

Interacting with the members of the VDGs and inquired about their familiarity with the weapons, the deputy commissioner urged them to work for the safety and security of the people in the area.
The VDGs appealed for their special training to ensure that they are comfortable in handling the weapons. In response, the deputy commissioner assured that village-wise training programme for the VDGs after the distribution of weapons.
He also assured that appropriate measures would be taken to maintain peace and tranquility in the border district.
Meanwhile, BJP President Ravinder Raina, along with Indian Army, JKP and District Administrative Officers, conduct outreach campaign after the terrorist attack in Dangri.
Along with the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and District Administrative Officers (DC Rajouri), a large number of people participated in this outreach campaign in the remote Potha area. Together they resolved to foil every conspiracy of the enemy.
Reaching out to the public after terror attack in Dangri, Raina, DC Rajouri Vikas Kundal, top Army Commanders of Romeo Force and JAKRIF reached Potha and Dhalori areas of Dangri Block in District Rajouri.
Raina, speaking in the confidence building measure, expressed deep anguish over the barbaric act of taking the precious lives of innocent little ones.
