Indian Foreign Services officer Vinay Mohan Kwatra on Thursday appointed as the next ambassador of India to France.

Kwatra, Indian Foreign Service batch of 1988, is at present the joint secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

He is expected to take up his assignment shortly and will succeed Mohan Kumar who is retiring from service.
