The Vishwa Hindu Parishad ((VHP) here has warned that it will launch statewide protests if action was not taken against the students who had assaulted a fellow law student in ICFAI Business School (IBS).

Meanwhile, the Cyberabad Police have booked nine staff members of Hyderabad for negligence of duty after a student was brutally assaulted in a hostel. Eight of the accused were arrested following the complaint and remanded.

The law student was assaulted for making a comment against Prophet Mohammed in a private conversation with a fellow student on Instagram. The fellow student had taken a screenshot of his message and uploaded it on social media which led to the assault, said the complainant. The accused students have been suspended by college.
