UPSC examination 2019: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the date for Civil Services examination 2019. According to the UPSC examination calendar, the civil services preliminary examination will take place on June 2, 2019, and the main examination will be conducted on September 20, 2019.
The UPSC conducts the civil services examination for recruitment to Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other central services and posts in accordance with the rules published by the Department of Personnel and Training in the Gazette of India extraordinary.

Examination details
• The UPSC conducts the Civil Service Examination, also known as IAS exam, in two phases — Prelims and Mains.
• The Prelims examination comprise objective-type questions. UPSC Mains examination will have descriptive and essay-type questions.
