World Music Day was observed in the city with great enthusiasm.
UPPSC PCS (Mains) 2018 exam: Today is the last date to apply for the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission PCS (Mains)-2018 examinations. The candidates, who could earlier fill the forms till May 16 can now do till May 23, 2019. The online applications can be filled on the official website-uppsc.up.nic.in till May 23, 2019.
The online editing of the application forms can be done till May 24, 2019.

• The Main written examination will consist of 6 compulsory subjects and 34 optional subjects.
• The General Hindi, Essay and General Studies papers will be conventional type and three hours time will be provided to solve compulsory subjects.
• For optional question papers, a total of three hours time will be given. Two hundred marks have been allotted for each optional question paper.
Timings of the examination:
• Timing of examination paper of 3 hours i.e. 9.30 am to 12.30 pm & 2 pm to 5 pm.
• There will be two sections in the question papers of optional subjects and every section will consist of four questions. The candidates should answer only five questions while they must select a minimum of two questions from each section.
After the PCS (Mains)-2018 examination, a Personality Test, for a total of 100 marks to test the general awareness, intelligence, character, expression power/personality and general suitability for the service will be conducted.
