Modi attacked the SP and the BSP leaders for misuse of tax payers’ money and making false promises.
“When Mulayam Singh ji was the chief minister of UP, he promised opening up of two new bridges, but why is it that they aren't made yet,” Modi asked.
“BSP leader took away stones for building statues but later when questioned, the leader shied away and said it came from Rajasthan,” he said.
According to Modi, “UP has the power to take the country forward,” but the state “government never paid attention to development works and brass industry in UP have been shut”.
“From lodging FIRs to jobs, from pension schemes to ration card, termite of corruption has badly gripped Uttar Pradesh,” he added.
The prime minister also highlighted tourism scope in the state, saying, "Uttar Pradesh has so much scope of tourism”.
“The Vindhyachal region being close to Kashi can draw people from around the country,” he added.
