The Uttar Pradesh Police in Lucknow have arrested two persons for allegedly duping Amazon worth crores of rupees on Monday. The two accused were identified as Rohit Soni and Rahul Singh Rathore, and both of them hail from Rajasthan, said Police.
“Amazon’s investigative team and their lawyer had complained that a gang of fraudsters had been duping Amazon worth crores of rupees over the last 2-3 years. A case under relevant sections of the IPC and IT Act was lodged in the matter and an investigation was started,” told Kalanidhi Naithani, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to the reporters.

He said that the accused used to rent accommodation in different states like Bihar, UP, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand among others, from where they order expensive products. They further return the bookings by replacing the original one with the inferior quality one, leading to double loses to the company.
The UP police have recovered mobile phones along with 29 SIMs from the accused. They have also seized fake stickers of numerous high-end products such as smart watches and mobiles which they were planning to use to commit fraud in the future.
