Facing massive rigging allegations, the Uttar Pradesh government has cancelled the police constable recruitment exams held earlier this month.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a post on social media on Saturday wrote,”Orders have been given to cancel the examination-2023 conducted for selection to the posts of Reserve Civil Police and to conduct re-examination within the next 6 months”.
” There can be no compromise with the sanctity of examinations.Those who play with the hard work of the youth will not be spared under any circumstances. Strictest action is certain to be taken against such unruly elements,” CM further said.

The government has instructed the Police Recruitment Board to ensure advance legal action by registering an FIR against any level of negligence. The government has decided to get the case investigated by STF too.
The CM has also decided to investigate the complaints related to the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (Preliminary) Examination – 2023 conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission on February 11.
For over 60,000 posts of Police constables, over 48 lakh youths had appeared for written exams in UP held on February 17 and 18 .But it was reported that the question paper were leaked and even more than100 touts were arrested by police.
Students were protesting on the streets in Lucknow and Prayagraj over UP Police Recruitment paper leakage.
Yesterday , Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi had demanded a CBI inquiry into the UP paper leak. She said that strict action should be taken against the culprits.
On the other hand ,thousands of candidates demonstrated in Lucknow’s Eco Garden on Friday, alleging paper leak in the constable recruitment examination conducted by Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment.
They raised slogans against the recruitment board and demanded re-examination. Heavy police force including PAC was present at the protest site.
An FIR was also registered in Lucknow by police over leakage of the question papers of police recruitment exam on late Friday night.
An internal inquiry committee was formed under the chairmanship of ADG/Member Secretary to investigate the claims of question paper leak and other errors in the examination.
