Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya flagged off a Jan Aushadhi train on Friday. The train will give information to the common people about the cheap and effective medicines available in more than 9,000 medicine centers of the country.

Mansukh Mandaviya pointed out that Jan Aushadhi Week is celebrated in the country from March 1-7. Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened Jan Aushadhi Kendra, a store of cheap drugs as Jan Aushadhi is becoming popular among the people.

Flagged off from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, the purpose of the Jan Aushadhi train is to create awareness in far-flung areas about cheap and effective medicines available at more than 9,000 medicine centers in the country.

Similarly, another train has also been started from Pune to Danapur which will cover four states in two months.

More than 12,000 people visit the center for cheap medicines daily. Ashwini Vaishnav said together with Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, it was decided that the Jan Aushadhi Kendra would be set up at major railway stations of the country.
