The registration window for UGC NET for December 2018 will open on September 1. This is the first time that National Testing Agency will conduct NET. Till July 2018, the exam was being conducted by the CBSE.
The registration window will remain open from September 1 to September 30, 2018. Once all the procedures are completed, the admit cards will be released before the examination.

UGC NET 2019 Eligibility criteria:
- The candidates who have completed their masters are eligible to pursue research in their PG subject from IITs or other national institutions in their subject.
- The students who are in the final year of their masters are also eligible. Those students can apply for the post of Assistant professor in the colleges & universities.
This is stated on the official website- “All the aspirants who belong to the third gender would be eligible to draw the same relaxation in fee, age and qualifying criteria for NET (i.e. Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor) as are available to SC/ST/PwD categories. The subject wise cut-offs for this category should be the lowest among those for SC/ST/PwD/OBC NCL categories in the corresponding subject.”
UGC NET 2019 Important dates:
- Online submission of application begins: 1 September 2018
- Online submission of application ends: 30 September 2018
From this December, NET will be conducted online.
As per the schedule announced by MHRD, UGC NET will be conducted in two shifts per day on Saturdays and Sundays.
