On the morning of December 23, three persons were shot dead while exiting from a hotel in the Pinjore area of Panchkula after celebrating a birthday. The attack, which claimed the lives of Vinit alias Vicky, his 17-year-old nephew, and a 22-year-old woman, Vandana, is believed to be part of a suspected gang rivalry. The names of Sahil and Vijay later surfaced in connection with the incident.
They were previously involved in more than two dozen heinous criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, robbery, and extortion, and were charged under MCOCA and the Arms Act in Haryana, Himachal, and Delhi, said Manoj C., the Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell).
The official said that they were apprehended from Bengaluru after a 5,000-km chase. Three mobile phones and Rs 2 lakh in cash were also recovered from their possession.
He stated that Sahil came in contact with Kapil Sangwan through a close aide of Nandu alias Kapil. In 2018, he was arrested in a robbery case at the Najafgarh Police Station in Delhi, where he met gangster Sachin Chhikara, a key member of the Nandu gang. After being released on bail, Sahil, along with shooters Vikas and Rohit Dagar, shot their rival Roshan in Najafgarh on Nandu’s instructions.
Similarly, Vijay is also involved in several heinous criminal cases. In 2023, he was attacked by shooters from the Manjeet Mahal gang on suspicion of aiding the killers of Manjeet’s father. He was seriously injured in that shootout, and to take revenge, he joined hands with the Nandu gang and began working for them.
The Additional Commissioner of Police added that further interrogation in the triple murder case is ongoing.
