The Telangana High Court on Wednesday directed the Special Investigating Team (SIT) of the Telangana Police to issue a fresh notice under Section 41 A of CrPC to BJP leader BL Santosh after he failed to appear for interrogation. However, the court dismissed the plea to remove the stay on the arrest of the BJP national General Secretary.
The investigators had submitted to the High Court that BL Santosh was willfully not cooperating in the investigation by not appearing before it. The earlier notice issued by the SIT had directed him to appear before the team on 21 November but he did not turn up. The SIT will submit its progress report to the single bench of Justice B Vijaysen Reddy on November 29.
Meanwhile, Telangana Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy’s son was admitted to the hospital with chest pain even as the I-T sleuths carried out raids in his properties for the second day today. After visiting his son, Mr Reddy alleged the CRPF had beaten up his son Mahender Reddy brutally, which resulted in chest pain.
TRS MLC and the daughter of K Chandrasekhar Rao, Kalvakuntla Kavitha today said that the BJP does not have organizational strength in Telangana and hence they are misusing their power and money to threaten leaders of other parties in order to get them to switch parties.
Addressing a TRS workers’ meet, she said that with the Assembly elections around the corner, more and more popular leaders were being harassed by the BJP, particularly from the TRS.
BJP spokesperson NV Subhash accused the TRS of spreading false propaganda against the saffron party after Munugode by-poll. He said E Subhash said the people were watching the gimmicks of KCR and will teach him a lesson.
