Rs 5 to 6-billion scam in Chhattisgarh’s DMF funds exposed
During an ED probe, it came to light that contractors paid exorbitant commissions ranging from 25 to 40 per cent of the contract value to officials and political figures in the state.
The Telangana chief minister penned an emotional letter to the party rank and file warning them to be vigilant against the “evil propaganda” of the Opposition.
On a day his daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha faced interrogation from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the second time, BRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao penned an emotional letter to the party rank and file warning them to be vigilant against the “evil propaganda” of the Opposition parties and said that truth shall prevail.
Rao, in his open letter to the BRS party cadres and supporters, particularly named the BJP for launching unwarranted attacks on the BRS as well as for neglecting Telangana.

“This is an election year. We should be vigilant against the evil propaganda of weak parties. The responsibility to further strengthen the Bhartiya Rashtra Samithi rests on your shoulders. Dharma will win!” said the chief minister who has so far not uttered a word as ED summoned his daughter twice this month so far in connection with the Delhi Liquor Scam.

Although he had revealed to his party leaders that BJP approached Kavitha to implement the Eknath Shinde model in Telangana he had left the task of criticising BJP for sending the summons to Kavitha and KT Rama Rao. However, every time she faced the CBI or the ED despite the late hours she went to Pragathi Bhavan to brief her father about the interrogation. The family also closed its ranks as local BJP leaders started predicting her imminent arrest and brother KT Rama Rao accompanied her during her visits to Delhi.
In his two-page letter to the party cadre, Rao, more popularly known as KCR, said he cannot be intimidated. “The BJP at the Centre is attacking our party with the slogan ‘Ab ki bar kisan sarkar’ for standing up for the country. It is creating obstacles at every step in the progress of Telangana. BRS is a party that has defeated thousands of attacks and millions of conspiracies. Would Telangana have come if we could be intimidated?” said the chief minister.
He exhorted the cadre reminding them that they were actually his true strength. He said, “I will never be able to repay the debt of you who have stood by me like a mountain and waved the pink flag in the streets.”
He mentioned several times the close rapport shared by the BRS formed during the days of struggle for statehood and Telangana and its people and explained why the party chose to enter national politics. He reminded them of the “indomitable steel will” that enables them to finish the task they have undertaken.
Meanwhile, state Industry Minister KT Rama Rao once again attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over skyrocketing fuel prices even as crude oil prices were dropping in the international market. He wanted to know “who is benefiting from the hike”. Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar tweeted back saying BRS was a party of “bald faced liars” and people will not believe them since KCR was not reducing VAT.
