According to reports, the family—a man, his wife, and their three children—were found unconscious in their rented accommodation in Pandrethan area of Srinagar.

Originally from Baramulla, the family was discovered by neighbors, who alerted authorities. They were rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Police stated that the family succumbed to suffocation late at night in their rented home. An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway, though their identities have not yet been confirmed.
This tragedy follows a similar incident in the Kathua district of Jammu a few days ago, where a retired DSP and five of his family members died of asphyxiation, and four others fell unconscious after a fire broke out at their residence.
Authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and ensure proper ventilation in their homes to prevent such incidents.
