A top Pakistani commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Munna Lahori, was killed on Saturday along with his local associate in a night-long encounter with the security forces in the Shopian district of South Kashmir.
He was responsible for a series of civilian killings in Kashmir, said the police.
Lahori, also known as Bihari, was used by the JeM terror group for recruitment of Kashmiri youth for terror activities. This terrorist from Pakistan was known for IED making.

He was killed in the morning along with his local associate, Zeenat Mir, after a night-long operation following a tip-off, police added.
In another incident, an army soldier was killed in cross-border firing in Machil sector of frontier Kupwara district of north Kashmir on early Saturday morning.
Pakistani forces attacked the army’s posts with mortars and guns in Machil sectors. Lance Naik Rajendra Singh of the Rashtriya Rifles sustained injuries and succumbed to injuries at a hospital.
