IMD predicts heavy rain in Kerala, issues yellow alert in six districts
Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in most parts of Kerala has been predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the weather department, the weather in West Bengal and Sikkim will be rough on 21 and 22 April.

The entire east coast will likely be pounded by thunderstorms and gusty winds, which will also hit Kerala, Meghalaya, Assam and Bihar.

Fishermen have been warned to be cautious while venturing out to the sea in the coastal regions in West Bengal, Odisha, southern Tamil Nadu and Andman-Nicobar islands.
“Based on the forecast generated by INCOIS, moderate to rough sea conditions are very liklely to prevail along the West coast of India and rough to very rough over southern parts of West Coast, South Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep area in the morning hours,” the IMD said in a statement.
Strong winds speed occasionally reaching 40-50 kilometre per hour with moderate to rough sea conditions are very likely along and off West Bengal and Odisha coasts on 22 April.
The weather conditions are likely to improve by 23 April in the coastal regions.
Meanwhile, heat wave and dust storms are likely to hit Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Telangana, in some pockets of Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha.
Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in some parts of J-K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on 24 April.
