A police team of the Sarai Rohilla Police Station has arrested an muslim (teacher) of a madrasa located in the area of North Delhi for allegedly sodomising a 12-year-old boy repeatedly inside the madrasa causing him some internal injuries.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Isran (24), a native of Islam Nagar, Saharanpur, UP, has been arrested by the police from his native place, after a brief chase.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Delhi), Sagar Singh Kalsi said that a complaint was received at the Sarai Rohilla Police Station by the victim boy and his family regarding the incident.
According to the family of the victim, the child started going to the Al-Jamiatul Islamiatul Arabia Qasimul-Uloom Madrasa in August 2021 for studies. The madrasa is run by Al Qasim Indian Charitable Trust, Masjid Fidai Khan situated in Sarai Rohilla and the accused Mohammad Isran was the Ulema in the madrasa, who used to teach children.
It is being alleged that the accused Isran used to make the victim unconscious and sexually harass him inside his room in the madrasa.
The DCP said that on the complaint of the victim, the police had registered a case under POCSO Act and other relevant sections and a probe was initiated.
Further, a manhunt was carried out in search of the absconding accused, who was eventually arrested from his native village in Saharanpur, UP.
Police are carrying out further investigation into the matter.
