“I can sense a fever coming. I am also feeling cold…A vehicle suddenly came before my car. It was a speeding vehicle. I survived due to the applying of hand brakes and sustained an injury just on the head,” she told news agency ANI.

The West Bengal CM refused to go to the hospital and said that the police will do their work with regards to the investigation into the accident.

“Police will do their work. I will not go to the hospital. I am feeling cold, so I am going home,” she said.

Mamata Banerjee had gone to the Burdwan by helicopter to address a government event. However, the weather turned bad and she had to return by road.

A speeding vehicle came in front of her car, promoting the driver to apply emergency hand brakes. This led to Banerjee, who prefers to sit in the front seat, hitting her head to the windshield.

After the accident, the Bengal CM reportedly refused medical attention and left for Kolkata.

Upon reaching the capital city, she was attended by doctors, who applied a band-aid on her forehead.
