National Conference leadership distanced itself from Mohammad Akbar Lone who had raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans after Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs shouted anti-Pakistan slogans in the J-K Assembly.
NC President Farooq Abdullah condemned Lone’s action, while former J-K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah didn’t give much importance to the “misplaced slogans”. Omar took to Twitter saying, “We need to focus on the unfortunate developments in #SunjwanArmyCamp & not get distracted by misplaced slogans”.

National Conference Spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu condemned Mohammad Akbar Lone’s statement and termed them as “unacceptable”. Mattu took to Twitter saying “the entire party is of the unequivocal stand that NC MLA from Sonawari Akbar Lone spoke out of turn”.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta on Saturday raised annother storm after he said that Rohingya Muslim camps near the Sujuwan Military Station pose a threat to the security forces. He also alleged that there is a drug mafia operating from Rohingya camps in Jammu.
