A week after the ruling BJP announced its in-charge for the 10 assembly by-elections seats, Samajwadi Party on Monday announced in-charge of six assembly seats.

According to SP sources, party’s senior leader Shivpal Singh Yadav has been given the responsibility of Katheri assembly seat while the responsibility of Milkipur has been given to recently elected MP from Faizabad seat, Awadhesh Prasad.

Interestingly, from the BJP’s side, in-charge of both Katheri and Milkipur assembly seats is Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and he had already addressed public meetings in both the assembly segments.

SP leader Virendra Singh has been given the responsibility of Majhwan seat, Chandrasen Yadav has been made in-charge of Karhal Assembly and Indrajit Saroj has been made in-charge of Phulpur assembly seat in Prayagraj.

Senior SP leader Rajendra Kumar has been given the responsibility on Sisamau seat in Kanpur.

The party is yet to announce in-charges in four remaining assembly seats. Due to this, speculations have started doing rounds about whether these seats could go to the Congress quota. It is a known fact that there is talk of seat sharing between Congress and the SP.

The Election Commission is yet to announce the dates of the bypolls.
