Stormy winter session of UP Assembly from tomorrow
A brief but stormy winter session of the Uttar Pradesh legislature lasting for 5 just days will commence on Monday.
Welcoming an announcement to give Rs 1 lakh to the districts of UP to celebrate Ram Navami, Akhilesh Yadav said the districts should be given at least Rs 10 crore each so that festivals of all religions could be celebrated.
Samajwadi Party has strongly reacted to the announcement of Yogi Adityanath Government to sanction financial assistance to all the districts of the state to organise Akhand Ramayan to be recited on Durga Saptashati during upcoming Navratri and on Ramnavami.
SP president Akhilesh Yadav has advised the government in a tweet on Tuesday to give at least Rs 10 crore each to the districts to celebrate festivals of all religions.

“Announcement to give Rs 1 lakh to the district magistrates of UP to celebrate Ram Navami is welcome, but what will happen with such a small amount. The districts should be given at least Rs 10 crore each so that festivals of all religions can be celebrated. The BJP Government should give free cylinders on festivals and it should start from this Ram Navami,” Yadav said.

The Yogi Adityanath Government had announced that Akhand Ramayan will be recited on Durgashaptashati on Navratri and Ramnavami, the birthday of Lord Shri Ram. For this, Rs 1 lakh will be given to all the district magistrates of the state.
Officials said cultural programmes will also be organised during this time. Special participation of women and girls will be ensured in these programmes. In this regard, instructions have been sent by Principal Secretary Culture Mukesh Meshram to all the divisional commissioners and district magistrates of the state.
Chaitra Navratri festival will be held from March 22 to 30.
Hoardings will be put up for wide publicity of these programmes. It will also be publicized on social media.
