The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) came up with a clarification on Monday that its Chairman K Sivan does not have any personal account on the social media.
ISRO tweeted, “It is noticed that accounts in the name of Kailasavadivoo Sivan is operational on many Social media. This is to clarify that Dr. K Sivan, Chairman, ISRO, does not have any personal accounts.”

Several fake accounts in the name of ISRO chief and ISRO, on different social media platforms became viral after Chandrayaan-2 Vikram Lander lost contact with ISRO scientists just 2.1 above the lunar surface on Saturday.
With the apprehension of any misinformation being spread about the Chandrayaan -2 Mission or any fake news about the ISRO chairman, ISRO shared the links of its official accounts on various social media platform.

Meanwhile, ISRO officials said that any update on Chandrayaan-2 mission, including the status of the moon lander Vikram that crash landed on the lunar surface on Saturday, will be announced on the organisation’s website.
In a significant update, an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) official associated with the Chandrayaan-2 moon mission said that the Vikram Lander is in a “single piece”.
The space agency official said that the “moon lander has not broken though its position is tilted”.
“It has probably hard-landed on lunar surface as per the thermal images sent by the on-board camera of Chandrayaan’s orbiter,” ISRO Official said.
ISRO official added that the agency is making every effort possible to re-established link with the Vikram lander.
