‘Lotus’ will bloom in West Bengal too: Amit Shah
The Union Home Minister said the result of the work of Modi Government is that today lotus has bloomed in Delhi.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a review meeting at the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) on Thursday, focusing on efforts and initiatives related to the implementation of the New Criminal Laws.
Shah highlighted the government’s commitment, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to transform the Indian Police Forces into SMART (Strict, Moral, Alert, Responsive, and Tech-savvy) forces.

He emphasized equipping the police with the necessary intellectual, physical, and organizational resources to effectively address policing challenges and ensure internal security.

During the meeting, Shah urged the BPR&D, National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), prison officials, and forensic experts to thoroughly analyze the modus operandi of crimes. He also instructed the BPR&D to research grassroots-level policing challenges and develop practical solutions.
The Home Minister stressed the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration, including partnerships with globally renowned institutions for research and projects.
He directed the BPR&D to expand the scope and outreach of its studies and publications to maximize benefits for law enforcement agencies while improving the public image of the police.
Shah commended the Bureau for its efforts in training for the New Criminal Laws, modernizing police forces, upgrading prison processes, and tackling emerging challenges in law enforcement.
He also emphasized the importance of a ‘Make in India’ approach to meet policing requirements and called for greater involvement of stakeholders in the Criminal Justice System, including states, union territories, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Union Home Secretary, Director General of BPR&D, and senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs attended the meeting.
