The Rashtriya Lok Dal led by Jayant Choudhury, a part of the Opposition-backed INDIA bloc, will join the NDA in the coming week, SBSP chief Omprakash Rajbhar claimed on Thursday.
Talking to reporters here, he noted that some leaders of the opposition alliance are contributing towards the victory of the BJP-led NDA in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
“Jayant Chaudhary of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) will join the ruling NDA on February 12,” he said.
On the other INDIA bloc partner — Samajwadi Party (SP) — Rajbhar said the party is already split, with one part of it (RLD) set to join ranks with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Speculations have been rife about the RLD president joining the NDA. It was also reported that RLD might get three to four Lok Sabha seats in western Uttar Pradesh, thanks to the NDA. SP had already given seven seats to RLD for the Lok Sabha.
Commenting on SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya’s controversial statements, the SBSP chief said he is set to doom the Samajwadi Party, adding that such remarks are at the instigation of SP president Akhilesh Yadav.
Rajbhar on Wednesday told the state assembly that SP would be wiped out in the 2027 UP assembly elections.
