Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that the BJP government has deliberately caused the Sambhal incident through its officials.

“People are still facing injustice in Sambhal on a large scale. Pressure is being put on people as false cases are being filed against them. The district magistrate and the police administration are resorting to unconstitutional and undemocratic ways. There was no riot in Sambhal, innocent youths were killed by police bullets. If the Samajwadi Party forms a government in UP, we will conduct an impartial investigation into the Sambhal incident and punish the culprits,” he announced.

Akhilesh Yadav, in a press conference here at the state party office on Tuesday, released the report of a SP delegation led by leader of the Opposition in the assembly Mata Prasad Pandey and council leader Lal Bihari Yadav on Sambal violence.

The report by the 18-member fact-finding team says the BJP government wants to destroy the brotherhood of the country and wants to spread hatred and discrimination in society. When the Places of Worship Act was in force in the country, what then was the need to survey the Shahi Jama Masjid in such a hurry, it asked.

Akhilesh Yadav said human beings have no value in the BJP government. The BJP is a divisive party and is against brotherhood.

“BJP is a heartless party. Even as many injustices and atrocities are taking place, this government has shown no sympathy to the victims. No one is getting justice in the BJP government and no one is being heard,” he stated.

The SP president asked why the Samajwadi Party delegation stopped from meeting the victims after the incident in Sambhal. After all, what did the government want to hide? The injustice done to the people by the police administration in Sambhal has never been seen before. The police beat people, filed false cases against them and tortured them to extract their statements. When Samajwadi Party leaders went to meet the victims in jail, action was taken against the jailer based on caste discrimination.

The SP chief said the BJP government has two scales. One is injustice against the PDA and the other is corruption. Discussion about corruption is common. Now, BJP people themselves have started accusing each other of corruption. The people of Lucknow are blaming Delhi and the people of Delhi are blaming Lucknow. The BJP government is organizing incidents like Sambhal to hide the corruption that has reached its peak and the looting of votes in Kundarki and Meerapur by-elections, he charged.

Mr Yadav said that the kind of videos that came during the by-elections in Kundarki and Mirapur exposed the dishonesty of the BJP and people understood that the BJP did not allow the elections to be fair.

Talking about the Milkipur assembly bypolls slated on February 5, Akhilesh Yadav said, “I want to tell the national and international media and journalists to come here and see how fair the elections are in UP?

Earlier, Opposition party leader Mata Prasad Pandey said along with the delegation, he met the victims in Sambhal and handed them Rs 5 lakh each on behalf of the party.

He said that the BJP government deliberately made the incident happen as part of a well-planned conspiracy and gave it the shape of a riot .
