A Mumbai court has cancelled the bailable arrest warrant against Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the 2002 hit-and-run case.
The court had last week stayed the warrant in the 7-year-old case in which government’s appeal against Salman Khan’s acquittal is pending before the Supreme Court.

In 2015, the Bombay High Court had acquitted Salman of all criminal charges for the lack of evidence. Recently, he was given five years of imprisonment in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.

An accused is required to submit a surety, which is the guarantee given by the person that the accused will fulfill conditions set by the court. So recently, Salman had sought to submit a new surety in place of the earlier one and submitted the name of Gurmeet Singh Jolly also known as Shera, who is the bodyguard of the superstar.
The process is not completed and due to which the session’s court issued a bailable warrant against him on 4 April.

On 21 April, Saturday, Salman Khan appeared before the court and signed on the fresh surety application with Shera present. The session’s court then disposed of the warrant against him.
On the work front, Salman Khan is shooting for this next release Race 3 which is all set to release on Eid this year.
