A total of 71 people have been identified as being part of the conspiracy and the NIA has already filed two chargesheets in the case –on March 17 and November 6 last year.

One of the accused, identified as Abdul Naser, died on January 2 last year while two absconders – Saheer K V and Jaffar Bheemantavida –were arrested on October 19 last year and February 12, respectively.

On April 26, 2022, Srinivasan was hacked to death by the assailants after storming into his shop at Melamuri in Palakkad. The six-member gang came in three bikes and murdered the RSS man in broad daylight.

The investigation team found that Srinivasan’s murder was revenge for the killing of Popular Front of India (PFI) leader Subair.
