Kerala HC grants bail to 17 PFI members accused of RSS Leader’s murder
The high court granted bail to the accused on finding that there exists no reasonable ground to believe that the accusations made against them were prima facie true.
According to the NIA, Shafeekh was a member of Popular Front’s hit squad, who went into hiding immediately after the murder of Sreenivasan.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Shafeekh, a key accused in the 2022 case of the murder of RSS leader Srinivasan in Kerala’s Palakkad.
Shafeekh, a native of Malappuram, was arrested by the NIA from Kollam on Monday.
According to the NIA, Shafeekh was a member of Popular Front’s hit squad. He went into hiding immediately after the murder of Sreenivasan.

A total of 71 people have been identified as being part of the conspiracy and the NIA has already filed two chargesheets in the case –on March 17 and November 6 last year.
One of the accused, identified as Abdul Naser, died on January 2 last year while two absconders – Saheer K V and Jaffar Bheemantavida –were arrested on October 19 last year and February 12, respectively.
On April 26, 2022, Srinivasan was hacked to death by the assailants after storming into his shop at Melamuri in Palakkad. The six-member gang came in three bikes and murdered the RSS man in broad daylight.
The investigation team found that Srinivasan’s murder was revenge for the killing of Popular Front of India (PFI) leader Subair.
