Enhanced CCTV coverage for women safety at stations
With special emphasis on the security of women passengers, Eastern Railway’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) has intensified routine patrols and CCTV surveillance at various stations.

On interrogation, the individuals failed to produce valid documents and confessed to their illegal entry into India, intending to depart via train no. 13174 (Kanchanjunga Express) from Agartala.

Subsequently, all three Rohingyas were apprehended and handed over to the Officer In-charge of Government Railway Police in Agartala for further legal proceedings.
Throughout the financial year 2023-24, RPF personnel have apprehended a total of 340 illegal migrants (comprising Rohingyas and Bangladeshis) at various stations across NFR.
The vigilant and proactive stance of RPF staff stationed at both stations and onboard trains remains steadfast in deterring illegal infiltration from border regions. Regular and systematic checks conducted by RPF at railway stations and aboard trains serve as a deterrent to such activities, a statement said.
