The video, reportedly shot on 9 September, had gone viral on the social media with people deploring the behavior of the woman, who can be seen slapping the jawan without seeking any explanation.
The soldier was later identified as JCO Mahavir Singh. Talking to a news channel, Singh revealed that he, along with the driver, was en route to Nizamuddin Railway Station in an Army vehicle when the incident happened. He said they couldn’t understand the provocation behind the behavior of the woman. He claimed that their vehicle had stopped metres away from that of the woman.
He said the woman driver, who was in a Tata Indica car, suddenly stopped the car, came out and slapped the driver of the Army vehicle and JCO Singh. Details are awaited.
