The country is celebrating its 69th Republic Day today and Delhi has been put under a security blanket with thousands of security personnel, anti-aircraft guns and sharpshooters deployed in view of the Republic Day parade that will be attended by ASEAN leaders.
The day is celebrated as the day when India became an independent republic as the country formally adopted the constitution. The parade to celebrate the occasion in the national capital starts from the iconic India Gate and carries on along the Rajpath.
