Bharat Gaurav train to start on 18 February, next year
IRCTC, East Zone, Kolkata has announced the launch of the Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train – Maha Kumbh Punya Kshetra Yatra, set to commence on 18 February 2025.
The train will cover important destinations associated with the life of Lord Ram in a 16-day tour package spread over India and Sri Lanka
A special tourist train, Shri Ramayana Express, was flagged off on Wednesday from Delhi. The train will cover important destinations associated with the life of Lord Ram in a 16-day tour package spread over India and Sri Lanka.
The all-inclusive tour package will cover all meals, accommodation and wash and change facilities in dharamshalas, all transfers and sightseeing arrangements. A dedicated tour manager of IRCTC will be travelling with the tourists during the entire tour.

The pilgrimage circuit will have two travel components — one each in India and Sri Lanka.

After leaving Delhi, the train will make its first stop in Ayodhya followed by Hanuman Garhi Ramkot and Kanak Bhawan temple. The train will then cover important destinations of Ramayana circuit such as Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Varanasi, Prayag, Shringverpur, Chitrakoot, Nasik, Hampi and Rameshwaram.
The Ramayana Express train will have an overall capacity to seat 800 passengers.

India leg of the journey is priced at Rs 15,120 per person. Passengers opting for the Sri Lanka leg of the Ramayana Yatra package will be charged separately. The package will cover all meals, accommodation and wash and change facilities in dharmashalas, all transfers and sight-seeing arrangements.
The Sri Lanka leg will cost an additional Rs 36,970 per person. Passengers will need to take a flight to Colombo from Chennai. The tour package will cover destinations like Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Colombo and Negombo. IRCTC already conducts a Shri Ramayana Yatra-Sri Lanka 5-night-6-day all-inclusive package, which covers visit to renowned Ashok Vatika (Hakkagala Botanical Garden) and temples of the ancient time, including Munneshwari, Munnawaram, Hanuman Temple.
