As the stalemate between four Pulwama martyrs’ widows protesting over their demands in civil lines here and the Rajasthan government continued, Governor of Rajasthan Kalraj Mishra has written to the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to take an ‘immediate positive action’ at his level.

In a letter to the chief minister, the governor said, “Rajya Sabha MP Meena along with Manju Jat, Madhubal, Sundari and Renusingh, all widows of the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country, present in front of me and handed over the letter regarding ‘permission for euthanasia’ which is originally enclosed. I am sending it for your consideration”.

The letter was written by the governor on March 4 after a meeting with the widows at Raj Bhawan. A copy of the letter was flashed on Meena’s WhatsApp group last night after the chief minister’s clarification on the demands of martyrs’ widows yesterday.

“It is the responsibility of the state to take care of the families of the brave sons who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country and give due respect to them. Therefore, considering the request of these heroines, it should be ensured that action is taken according to the ideology of the welfare state”, Mishra wrote in defence of the demands of the widows.

“Therefore, in this regard, I expect from you that in view of the seriousness and special nature of this episode, instructions should be given to take immediate positive action from your level,” the governor wrote.
