Rajasthan Chief Minister Lal Sharma and several prominent leaders, on
Tuesday, offered ceremonial Chadars to the sacred tomb of Sufi Saint
Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti’s Dargah and prayed for peace,
tranquility, and brotherhood in the country.
A 92-member jatha of zayreens (pilgrims) from Pakistan has also
arrived here in the wee hours around on Tuesday to participate in the
813th annual urs of the Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz and to offer a ceremonial
Chadar to Khwaja Saheb’s tomb on behalf of the Pakistan government.

A protocol officer of the jatha and two officials of the Pakistan High
Commission in India were also accompanying the group.
The Jatha will leave Ajmer for Pakistan on January 10 afternoon.
The chadar, on the behalf of the state chief minister Sharma, was
brought here by the BJP’s State Minority Front President Hamid Khan
Mewati, after which scores of BJP leaders and workers joined him here
to escort the Chadar to the Dargah Sharif in a procession.
After offering the chadar, the chief minister’s message of goodwill
for strengthening peace, tranquility, and spirit of brotherhood was
read out before the public at Buland Darwaza.
Chadars were also offered on Tuesday on the behalf of the Congress
President Mallikarjuna Kharge, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Dr Prem
Chand Bairwa and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
