Assam CM Sarma criticises Congress, urges support for BJP in upcoming by-elections
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took aim at the Congress, accusing it of obstructing development and lacking commitment to public welfare.
The incidents of question paper leak, poor law and order situation and regularisation issue of the contractual employees will help BJP up the ante against the Congress Government.
The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly is all set to begin its budget session on Monday, where the opposition BJP and RLP legislators are preparing to corner the ruling party and the Government, taking up a number of issues, including the resignation of a section of Congress MLAs.
The recent incidents of question paper leak, poor law and order situation and the regularisation issue of the contractual employees will also help BJP up the ante against the Congress Government.
The Budget session will start with the Governor’s address at 11 in the morning to be followed by the obituary references, said Deputy Chief Whip of Assembly Mahendra Choudhary.

He said that newly elected MLA in Sardarshahar bypoll Anil Kumar Sharma would take oath from Speaker Dr C P Joshi. The Business Advisory Committee of the House will meet to discuss and plan the sitting days of the assembly, he said.
Earlier last week at Chintan Shivir, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had announced that the State Budget for FY 2023-24 would be tabled on the floor on 8 February.
Leader of Opposition (BJP), Gulab Chand Kataria said the party would not spare the Congress Government on the floor of the House as it had done nothing significant during the last 4 years and a number of major issues and problems have cropped up which the Government must answer.
“We will compel the State Government to reveal the facts on the competitive examinations’ paper leak cases, Congress MLAs’ resignation, poor law and order situation besides many other issues in the budget session,” said veteran BJP leader.
The Gehlot Government’s claim to provide jobs to 2.85 lakh youths was just lip service and nothing else, Kataria said adding that not even a single project at a minimum cost of Rs.25 cr had come on ground at the state government expenses.
