Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday came down heavily on Jharkhand Governor CV Radhakrishnan, claiming Raj Bhavan was involved in his arrest.
Speaking at the state legislative assembly ahead of trust vote, Hemant Soren said, “…on the night of January 31, for the first time in the country, a CM was arrested…and I believe that Raj Bhavan was also involved in this incident.”

He also announced to quit politics if the Enforcement Directorate proved the 8.5 acre land at the centre of his arrest is registered in his name.
“I have been arrested on charges of 8.5 acre land scam. If they have the courage, then show the documents of the land registered in my name. If it is proved, I will quit politics…,” he said.
The former Jharkhand CM and JMM executive president further added,”…We have not yet accepted defeat. If they think they can succeed by putting me behind bars, this is Jharkhand where many people have laid down their lives.”
Earlier on Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate arrested the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam.
A team of ED officials had accompanied Soren to the Raj Bhavan and arrested him moments after he tendered his resignation from the post of the chief minister.
Soren was arrested under the the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA). According to the ED, he was among the key beneficiaries of the alleged land scam in Ranchi that took place over the years and involved property dealers and businessmen.
Earlier today, he was allowed to attend the floor test of his successor Champai Soren-led JMM-Congress-RJD alliance government.
