Rahul Gandhi on Sunday again reiterated that the Congress was the party of ‘Tapaswis’ and not of ‘Pujaris’ amid loud cheers from at least 15 thousand party delegates while addressing the 85th plenary session at Nava Raipur.
“This is the party of Tapaswis. This is not the party of Pujaris. You have seen how our slight four months of Tapasya infused a fresh life in the party, in the country and in the Congress workers. This penance should not be stopped. The programme for atonement should go on,” he said.

“Every Congress worker and leader should participate in Tapasya and that it should be replete with hardships, pain and it should be sweltering,” the former Congress president asserted.

Training his guns towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP government at the Centre, Rahul in white T-shirt said the Central government was acting like cowards when it comes to taking Chinese aggression head on.
“Our Foreign Minister says we cannot afford a clash with China since China is a much bigger economy than ours. It then implies that you will beat someone who is weak and surrender before the one who is powerful. This is the policy of Savarkar, the policy of cowardice,” he said.
Questioning the BJP for its alleged ties with the corporate magnate Adanis, the Congress leader said that he had just asked how Adani jumped to second spot in 2022 from 609 in 2014.
“But instead of replying to my queries, the BJP and its government began defending Adani. Whole of my and Kharge Ji’s speech was expunged from the records in the Lok Sabha,” he claimed.
Drawing a parallel between Adani Group and East India Company, Wayanad MP claimed that all the country’s wealth, infrastructure, ports, and airport are being handed over to Adani the way East India Company had usurped it from us.
History is repeating itself. This is against the country and the Congress will rise if the country is harmed,” he said.

Leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi questioned the central government's foreign policy.
Intervening in the debate on the Bill in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, the home minister said the legislation would not be implemented with retrospective effect. He accused the Opposition of trying to mislead the people and create fear among members of the Muslim community.
The party said that the Prime Minister Modi should take the people into confidence on this issue of national importance.
