Indian scientists decode how TB bacterium persists in human body
Researchers at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have decoded the mechanism that helps the tuberculosis (TB) bacterium to persist in the human body for decades.
President Pranab Mukherjee will on Wednesday address the annual convocation of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru, his office said on Tuesday.
President Mukherjee "will visit Bengaluru (Karnataka) tomorrow (Wednesday) to address the annual convocation of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru", said a statement issued by the President's Secretariat.
Established in 1909 by Jamsetji Tata with the help of Maharaja of Mysore, who offered land for the institute, the IISc is regarded one of the most reputed institutes for science in the country.

In the recently published QS World University Rankings for 2018, the IISc was ranked 190th globally and 33rd in Asia.
