President Ram Nath Kovind visited the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai on Sunday afternoon to enquire about the health of ailing former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

President Ram Nath Kovind visited the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai on Sunday afternoon to enquire about the health of ailing former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

Accompanied by Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit, the President visited the hospital located in Alwarpet locality of the city. He was received at the hospital by Karunanidhi’s son and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam working president MK Stalin and daughter and Rajya Sabha MP K Kanimozhi.

According to reports, the President spent 15 minutes at the hospital during which he met the doctors treating the DMK supremo.

In a tweet posted from his official Twitter handle, the President said that he wished Karunanidhi a quick recovery.

“Visited Thiru M. Karunanidhi in Chennai, met Kalaignar‘s family members and doctors, and inquired about his health. Wishing the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, a veteran of our public life, a quick recovery #PresidentKovind,” read the tweet.

A photo posted along with the tweet showed the President in conversation with Stalin, Kanimozhi and Governor Purohit.

 

The President was received at the airport by Governor Purohit and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami when he arrived in Chennai earlier today.
