President Murmu appeals to people to celebrate pollution-free Diwali
President Droupadi Murmu, on Wednesday, appealed to the people to celebrate a pollution-free Diwali and pledge to build a healthy, prosperous and responsible society.
Welcoming the President, CM Mann expressed the hope that during her visit, she will have a feel of the glorious cultural heritage of the state besides enjoying the warm hospitality of the Punjabis.
President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday paid obeisance at the Golden Temple in Amritsar during her day-long visit to the holy city.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann accompanied the president at Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), Jallianwala Bagh, Durgiana Mandir and Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath.
Earlier, the CM received the President at Sri Guru Ramdass International Airport during her one day visit to the city and offered her a bouquet of flowers.

Welcoming the President to Punjab, Mann said this is the land of great Gurus, saints, seers and prophets. He said Punjab is the cradle of civilization and inherits a rich culture which can be observed only by visiting this pious land.
The CM expressed the hope that during her visit, the President will have a feel of the glorious cultural heritage of the state besides enjoying the warm hospitality of the Punjabis. Mann said it is a momentous occasion for all of us and the entire Punjab is giving a red carpet welcome to the country’s President during her visit to the state.
The CM said the state government is honored to welcome the country’s President on this blessed land.
