Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said “corrupt” INDIA bloc partners are worried about his government’s pursuit of development, and had questioned him about his family to which the poor, farmers, youth and women have replied “we are Modi’s family”.
He was addressing a public meeting in Jajpur, Odisha after launching development projects worth Rs 20,000 crore in the state, remembering its colossus Biju Patnaik on his services to the nation on his birth anniversary.

The Prime Minister said his party aimed for 400 seats in the coming Lok Sabha election to make India the third largest economy in the world, and to change the lives of the poor, farmers, youth and women in the country.
He said his government had launched several schemes for the welfare of the poor and deprived sections of people. “But the corrupt INDI alliance people do not like this; they do not like our policies, our dedication,” he said.
Mr Modi said the INDI alliance leaders had nothing to respond to; so they have increased their attacks on Modi; “they say he does not have a family and needs to be removed,” he said.
If they say they have an ideological fight with the government, then they should listen carefully, “the ideology of INDI alliance is family first; Modi’s ideology is Nation first; they live for the family; Modi is dedicated, works for every family of the country,” he said.
“They work for the future of their families, children, and this INDI alliance has also been formed for that only; but Modi is dedicated to making the future of India’s all children. They have only one target, removal of Modi; and Modi’s target is making India Viksit Bharat, the third largest economy in the world,” the Prime Minister said.
Mr Modi said the INDI alliance leaders have made palaces for themselves, but his government made pucca houses for the poor; they have only removed the poverty of their families; Modi government has taken 25 crore out of poverty,” he said.
“That is why, I say Mera Bharat, Mera parivaar. This is what bothers these family-based (parivaarvadi) parties. Since yesterday, every poor, kisan, youth, and daughter is saying they are Modi’s family,” he said.
Mr Modi said the large presence of people at the meeting showed the mood of the East, “what Odisha has decided, is clear.” He said this resolution of abki baar, 400 paar is for making India the third largest economic power of the world.
The massive gathering of people showed they wanted a strong and decisive government, once again, “the 400 paar sankalp is to change the lives of kisan, youth, women, and in this, Odisha will play an important role,” he said.
In the last 10 years, he said, there was unprecedented investment in the State. “We want Odisha as a gateway to Viksit Bharat,” he said. CNG-transport, new industries are coming up. Odisha is emerging as a big centre of polyester. There is raw material available for the textile industry. In the last 10 years, petro chemicals sector has received an investment of Rs 2 lakh crore with immense possibilities for jobs.
These projects will change the lives of the youth of the State, he said. These could come up earlier also but the Congress and its associates were busy filling up their coffers, looting coal reserves, could not think of free food for the poor; there was scam in urea, no possibility of urea for kisans at low rates, there were scams in recruitment also.
After independence, the Congress did nothing to help the poor, youth, or adivasis. The government wanted a guarantee for everything. For bank accounts or jobs; but now things have changed since 2014, he said. The free food scheme will continue for another five years.
“A son of a poor person is in the Central Government and becomes PM, he will be the guarantee for the poor. A person who had nothing for guarantee, his guarantee is given by the PM. Jan Dhan bank accounts; property in the names of women, garib, dalit, adivasi had nothing from banks, they now get loans under the Mudra Yojana without guarantee; vishwakarma workers also have guarantee,” he said.
In the last few years, the work culture in the country has changed, he said. Earlier, governments were not keen to complete the projects on time. “My government has focused on completing the projects on time after launching their construction, including pending projects, all “atki, latki, bhatki yojanas completed,” he said.
